Week 5
Reflection time. This week focused on looking back. Take a look at my reflections blog to gaze into the reflective pool of learning.
Week 4
This week was a group work project. Check out the result here: Lamar Ed Tech Leadership group website. This was a great project that allowed me to practice some of my new skills using Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, and Proximity.
Week 3
This week was all about animation. This goes beyond the simple flip books that you may have made while you were board in class and uses free software to help create simple animations. I am a big Star Trek fan, so my animation is apply named Stick Trek and is Star Trek inspired. The assignment asked for at least 10 actions. My animation is 56 frames and has a lot of movement in it. I really enjoyed this and would love to see it implemented in my classroom as a project. It has definitely got me thinking. I have really enjoyed the creative piece of this class. It has been a pleasure to work in this class and be able to channel some of that creativity into these projects.
Week 2
This week focused on brand creation. You have to look at yourself as a brand. My brand is Stricklandphysics. This brand is something that I started several years ago and was looking for a way to homogenize the feel of the Facebook page, twitter account, and the youtube page. Below is the logo that came out of this process. It was extremely fun to do, and I think taught me quite a lot about the process that goes into making a logo.
Week 1
The assignment this week was to ultimately create a teaching tool that uses the C.R.A.P. design elements. Through this week we have looked at a very old manuscript from the 13th century to modern websites and how they utilize the elements of design. In each of these cases both good and bad things about design are uncovered. Take a look at the expanded assignment below. Then when you have time head over to the Reflection Blog and see the 13 century manuscript that I critiqued.
